SIXTH SENSE: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AT AMS

As we reach the end of this Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re reminded of what a crucial period of the year it is. It not only spotlights mental health issues, it helps combat associated stigmas and to realise that mental health is as vital as physical health.

At AMS, we are committed to putting our people and their families first. Your mental and physical well-being is our top priority, and we encourage you to reach out to your team for support. We believe that by prioritising our people, we pave the way for our collective prosperity.

At AMS, we endeavour to keep the spotlight on this issue throughout our year, not just during Mental Health Awareness Month.

We are delighted to have been awarded the People First Priority Badge of Honour from the IPA in recognition of all our initiatives and work in this area. Still, we will continue striving to keep the conversations going and support all our employees and their loved ones.

And when we look after each other’s mental and physical well-being, there are always good outcomes, such as-.

  • Lower Absenteeism
  • Happier Work Environment
  • Stronger Culture
  • Greater Productivity
  • Retain talent
  • Better team dynamics
  • Happier team

The Mental Health Foundation also has some great tips if you need help or advice for yourself or how to help someone struggling.

When we are in crisis, we need emergency support. Awareness isn’t always enough, and access to support is crucial.

It’s essential to raise awareness and be open about Mental Health. We are all too happy to listen if someone says they have a bad back or a sore ankle, but if someone says they are struggling to cope, many people disappear or go with the horrible adage of “man up.”

A little chat can make a difference with someone in need. It can save a life.
